Mission Meadows Community Garden is run by neighbors, for neighbors — and our board is where the direction gets set. We're looking for six people to help steer specific parts of the garden.
Why The Board Matters
The garden runs on volunteers, but it grows with direction. Board leaders decide what gets planted, who it reaches, and how the harvest gets shared — from the rental plots to the food forest to what leaves the gate for neighbors who need it.
Open Positions
Six roles are open right now. Pick one, or let us know in your application if a couple fit.
Rental Garden Leader
Oversees the individual rental plots — plot assignments, member communication, and keeping the rental beds in good shape season to season.
Food Forest Leader
Leads the food forest planting and long-term care — perennial layout, tree and shrub health, and organizing forest-focused work parties.
Helper to Glean Flowers
Coordinates cutting and gleaning flowers from the garden for donation or event use, and keeps the flower beds tidy between harvests.
Volunteer Coordinator
Recruits and schedules volunteers, runs onboarding for first-timers, and keeps work parties staffed throughout the season.
Compost, Harvesting & Gleaning Coordinator
Manages the compost system and organizes harvesting and gleaning across the garden so food gets picked, used, or donated before it's wasted.
Market Garden Coordinator
Runs the market garden beds — planning what's grown for sale or donation, and coordinating harvest days and market drop-off.
What Board Membership Looks Like
Meetings
Monthly board meeting
The board meets once a month for one hour.
One-year term
Board members serve a one-year term.
A few hours a week
